Student Life at SPSU

Student walking in campus One of the factors that has been found to be most highly correlated with academic success is what is called "student engagement", the extent to which a student is active in campus life outside class.  We realize that many of you, once to get here, will have to cope with competing demands on your time, including study, work, family, outside activities and so on, we nevertheless encourage you to try to become involved with SPSU.  In order to be able to do so, you probably want to get more information on what you can do at SPSU and a good place to start is UPeers.  Another site you may want to visit is the SPSU pages for prospective students

The hub of many out-of-class student activities is the Student Center.  It houses the book store, a post office, meeting rooms, the Careers and Counseling Center, as well as a restaurant and rooms to relax.

SPSU also has a large number of student clubs, including student chapters of professional organizations, chapters of national fraternities and sororities, and organizations for people who share the same hobby.  There is also a student newspaper, called The Sting.  Browsing through the sting will give you a good idea of what is going on campus.

It will not come as a surprise that Georgia's Technology University hosts its own version of facebook or myspace.  You can check it out here.

Finally, at least some of you will want to live on campus.  All our on-campus residence facilities have been built or were upgraded over the last few years, and they are therefore modern and extremely comfortable.  More information on residence life can be found here.
