Center for Information Security Education Recognized

SPSU's Center for Information Security Education (CISE) has been recognized as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE) for the academic years 2008-2013 by the National Security Agency and the Department for Homeland Security.
The goal of the CAE/IAE program is to reduce vulnerability in the US information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance (IA), and producing a growing number of professionals with IA expertise in various disciplines. In addition to bestowing a seal of approval on the work done in Information Assurance education through the CISE, the official recognition of CISE as an CAE/IAE also ensurs that SPSU students are eligible to apply for scholarships and grants through the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program and the Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service Program (SFS).
The effort to obtain recognition for CISE was directly by Dr Andy Wang, Director of CISE and Chair of the Department of Information Technology, and Dr Svetlana Peltsverger, Assistant Professor in Information Technology.
