Ed Yourdon Gives Presentation on Web 2.0

The ballroom in the Student Center at Southern Polytechnic State University was the venue for the Atlanta SPIN signature event, sponsored by conflair.  The highlight of the event, which attracted around 250 attendees, was a presentation by the world-renowned software engineer and computer scientist, Ed Yourdon, depicted on the right.

The title of Ed Yourdon's talk was "The Internet's Second Wave: Web 2.0". Mr Yourdon defined Web 2.0. as ""a set of tools and techniques, business strategies and social trends that drive individual creation and sharing of content on the Internet".  He discussed the business, social and cultural implications of the emergence of Web 2.0.  A copy of Mr Yourdon presentation can be downloaded from his web site.

Atlanta SPIN is one of the many regional groups of software professionals called "SPINs" that meet and share their experiences initiating and sustaining software process improvement programs.  Atlanta SPIN's specific purpose is "provide a forum for the free and open exchange of software process improvement experiences and ideas".
