The 2003 International Conference on Embedded Systems and Applications (ESA'03) will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 23 - 26, 2003. A special technical session of "Middleware Development for Networked Embedded Systems" has been approved by the conference General Chair and the Program Committee.
The widespread use of communication networks and SOC (system-on-chip) has triggered the transition from single computer embedded systems to networked embedded systems, which are embedded devices with wired or wireless network-enabled interfaces and able to communicate and share resources or information with other devices in a networked environment. These systems are interesting because the design of networked embedded systems include not only conventional hardware, software, but also networking ends, protocols, middleware, etc. Middleware is a layer of software between the embedded applications and the underlying operating systems, network protocol stacks, and hardware. The middleware provides services such as identification, authentication, authorization, coordination, gateway management, directories, and security. It simplifies the integration of components developed by multiple technology suppliers.
Prospective authors are invited to submit their draft papers (about 5 pages - single space,
font size of 10 to 12) via e-mail to Andy Ju An Wang
(jwang@spsu.edu) by
March 1, 2003.
The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be
limited to 7 (IEEE style) pages. Papers must not have been
previously published or currently submitted for publication
elsewhere.
The first page of the draft paper should include:
title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address,
E-mail address, telephone number, and Fax number for
each author. The first page should also include the
name of the author who will be presenting the paper
(if accepted) and a maximum of 5 keywords.SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
All accepted papers are expected to be
presented at the conference.
All conference proceedings published by CSREA Press are considered for inclusion in major database indexes that are designed to provide easy access to the current literature of the sciences (database examples: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC, ...).
