Summary
Chi Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Information Technology in the School of Computing and Software Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University. She received her Ph.D. in Information Technology from the College of Information Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Nebraska at Omaha and another master’s in Instructional Technology from University of Nebraska at Kearney. She is a certified professional in healthcare information & management systems (CPHIMS).
Her current research focuses on Health Information Technology and Electronic
Health Record Systems adoption & use, technology-mediated learning,
and best practices of using technologies in virtual and classroom teaching. She has published research articles in these areas in
Journal of Information Systems Education, e-Service Journal, Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), Southern Conference on Information Systems (SAIS), Midwest Conference on Information Systems (MWAIS), Collaboration Researchers' International Workshops on Groupware (CRIWG), and others. She is a member of Association for Information Systems (AIS), Special Interest Group for IS education (AIS-SIGED), Special Interest Group on Information Technology in Healthcare (AIS-SIGhealth), ACM Special Interest Group for Information Technology Education (ACM-SIGITE),
and Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
She is the coordinator for
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program
at the School of CSE.
Prior to joining SPSU, she had taught a variety of courses in both Computer Science and Information Systems
at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for nine years.
