Each year, the School of Computing and Software Engineering selects students
to receive the outstanding CSE Undergraduate Award
in recognition of outstanding achievement inside and outside the classroom.
This award honors students with involvement and participation in student life
and student activities at Southern Polytechnic State University and/or beyond.
All award recipients are invited and recognized during the University's Student awards ceremony.
Each winner will receive a plaque and a cash award and
will have their name engraved on a permanent plaque in the CSE Dean's office.
The award is open to any graduating CSE student whose GPA is 3.2. or above at the time of graduation
and who has taken 24 hours of more of CSE courses at SPSU.
Summer 2007 graduates, the Fall 2007 graduates and the Spring 2008 graduates are eligible to apply.
Up to three awards may be conferred each year during the Spring Term.
Applications must be supported by one or more CSE faculty members.
To apply for this award, or to nominate another student,
please send an application to the Dean's Office in CSE containing
- Name
- Student ID
- Email address
- Phone Number
- Expected or actual graduation date
- Major (CS, IT or SWE)
- Name(s) of CSE faculty members supporting the application
- A list of the extracurricular activities at SPSU
that the applicant has been involved in (clubs, organizations, etc.),
and a brief description of each. This section should be 500 words or less.
- A list of the community activities while the applicant was enrolled at SPSU
and a brief description of each. This section should be 500 words or less.
- A 500-1000 word essay describing what the applicant thinks computing will look like in 10 years time
Applications or nominations can either be sent or be delivered to the Dean's Office (J377)
or sent by email to cse_dean@spsu.edu.
